What is the difference between
the good and great?
Most would say it’s the way they always seem to have more time on the ball, the way they can make the difficult look effortless, consistently making the right decisions whilst others falter.
Some would say this talent is “God given”, that you can’t learn these things, but that’s where we know otherwise!
How do you make a good
player great?
Some people never realise their full potential, they may have masses of talent but don’t possess the essential concentration, focus, decision
making, tactical skills and emotional control to succeed at the next level.
Why?
We now know the answer often lies within a part of the brain called the cerebellum.
“His whole vision and outlook
has gone up to a new level.”

England Rugby International

The Scientific Breakthrough
The cerebellum is the skill learning centre of the brain and plays an integral part when learning a new skill. It works very much like the gearbox within a car. A Ferrari cannot perform to its potential if it has an inadequate gearbox to transfer its potential power into actual performance. This is why improving
the cerebellum is so crucial for athletes who have great talent but their performance is limited by their brain’s ability to process information quickly enough and make certain skills automatic.
Can we help take your game to the next level?
The Cerebellum
The Next Source of Competitive Advantage
Research into learning by Harvard University in the 1990s identified the cerebellum as playing a key role in skill development. From these origns, although the Dore Programme was a developed originally to help people with
dyslexia, amateur and professional athletes
on the programme noticed a transformation
in their sporting performance.
Further research resulted in a programme for elite athletes that has already impacted on the lives of many professional sports people around the world.
This programme is now available to amateur
athletes who want to reach the next level and become stars of the future.
When the cerebellum isn’t working
efficiently athletes may experience:
- Poor concentration /
mental tiring
- Slowness to pick up new skills/
learn from mistakes
- Lack of team/spatial awareness –
(tunnel vision)
- Loss of emotional control (e.g.
poor discipline/match-day nerves/
lash out)
- Inconsistent kicking/catching/
throwing
- Inability to retain
set pieces, tactics, strategy
- Poor or slow decision making
- Inability to anticipate &
multi-task
The Dore Sport program tackles
these problems head-on, improving
performance permanently!
