Frustration

Frustration affects around 50 per cent of people with learning and attention problems. Frustration is often caused by a feeling of incompetence. Very often those people affected become frustrated because they aren’t able to express thoughts clearly and also become aggravated that they are challenged by tasks other people find easy.

The lack of processing capacity in an underdeveloped cerebellum often causes irrational thoughts. In many cases this leads to temper and flare-up tantrums because they aren’t able to put thoughts into perspective. For those affected by learning and attention difficulties getting over minor conflicts is very hard because they often take too much to heart.

Developing the cerebellum often helps to alleviate this distressing symptom. The exercises strengthen the neural pathways in the brain so that more skills and learning abilities become automatic. This releases capacity in the memory so that those people affected have the ability to rationalise their thoughts, and control their feelings more easily.

The program increases peoples’ ability to react appropriately in social situations and also to read and understand social cues at the same time as processing what they say. Giving this skill to young children often means they have the chance to develop proper friendships for the first time and also to show affection more readily.

For adults, the program improves their social awareness and sensitivity to others feelings, leaving them feeling more confident in contributing to social situations.
