Organisational skills
People affected by learning and attention difficulties may show signs of poor organisation. It is common for people with a poor short term memory to also have poor organisational skills as both symptoms are associated with a lack of capacity in the brain’s working memory. People affected will experience a number of problems in their organisational abilities: for example, forgetting to take books to school, keeping a room or desk tidy and being late for appointments.
A problem with organisation is another symptom associated with an underdeveloped cerebellum, which makes it very difficult to juggle and organise simple tasks. Good organisational skills require capacity in the memory in order to remember to do tasks, such as remembering to take books to school.
The Dore Program enhances organisational skills because it works by developing and strengthening the neural pathways in the brain. This means that capacity in the brain is released so remembering simple tasks becomes automatic.
